Bridgewater Knitalong with Company
From Made in Brooklyn by Jared Flood

Sunday Afternoon from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, starting on October 4th, and continuing on the 18th and November 1st. There will be no charge and you are welcome to join the Knitalong. We expect that the KAL will be over-subscribed and we have some requirements:
-
You must register either online here or by calling the store. - You must attend the first session on October 4th to be able to attend subsequent sessions.
- You must own a copy of “Made in Brooklyn” – you can purchase it here if you don’t already own it.
- You must purchase your yarn from us for the KAL – Classic Elite Silky Alpaca Lace is recommended (4 balls – cost $41) and it can be ordered from us here.
This project is for the knitter with an intermediate skill level. You will use a variety of stitches, basic lace techniques, and charts. The more industrious among you could get this finished by Christmas, however, don’t worry – we’ll schedule sessions for the New Year for those amongst us who’ll need more time.
Designed by Jared Flood and featured in his Classic Elite Collection “Made in Brooklyn“, this what Jared says about his creation:
“The piece is a perfect square, with the center garter stitch portion (okay, so I guess I got a little more garter in than I may have originally let on) worked first, back and forth with lots of satisfying, mindless knitting. Just when you’re ready to ditch the simple stuff you’ll work the second section of horseshoe lace, picked up from the square’s perimeter and worked in the round, working increases at each of four corners. The delicate edging is worked last and knitted-on in place of a bind off”.

Check back soon - we'll be adding knitting and crochet items to our Chicken Wire Auction for you to peck at. In the meantime,
Ooh, great idea for a knit-along! I wish I could join in, but I will be out of town on the 4th and a couple other Sundays. Too bad! But maybe I’ll knit this anyway. It’s a beautiful pattern. Have fun!
