Nuss Knitalong – Lots of Progress

The Nuss from Berroco – a basic cardigan with a gently flared shape. It has an easily memorized lace pattern that decorates the fluted bottom. Finished with crochet and a cluster of buttons.

The Knitalong (KAL) participants are making great progress. One of these folks has completed the knitting and is ready to put together the different pieces. Can you guess who?

There was much discussion as to whether to block and sew, or to sew and block. The decision was to sew and block using a “Wooly Board” – available in the store.

Come and see our model it’s made in Blackstone Tweed Plum Island – a yarn for the discerning knitter! This super soft yarn has all the rustic appeal of a classic tweed yarn but with a high dose of mohair and angora. With wear these garments will develop a soft and fuzzy halo. A joy to wear and a pleasure to knit.

We will be closed on Easter Sunday to spend some time with our family and friends. We hope that you have a Happy Easter.

Our Retreat at the Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva

We are fast approaching the deadline to sign up for the retreat, so please do it now. A $100 deposit secures your place. Some of our vendors have been very generous and we have some great giveaways for you, not to mention knitting instruction, knitting yoga, knitting fun and knitting food.

This is going to be a great time to refresh and renew, learn some techniques and enjoy the start of spring with some of your knitting buddies. Included in the cost is a (great) goody bag, your yoga classes, breakfast lunch and dinner on Saturday and Breakfast on Sunday.

Now, even more than ever, we need to take some time for ourselves, so put us at the top of your list and joins us.

The Full Weekend

The cost is $329 per person, and includes group breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and a celebration dinner on Saturday evening. We have added a daytime option … come and join us for a relaxing day of knitting at the Abbey, Saturday from 10.30 am until 5pm, lunch, goody bag and a knitter’s yoga session included for just $50. Stay for our Saturday Evening Celebration Dinner for a total of $80.

Don’t be too late, sign up by Tuesday March 24th, and you can break the payments up into three, to make it easier on your check book. You can download our registration form and mail us a check if you prefer.

We’re Dancing with the Stars here – the Tango garment is knit from side to side using Grace Hand Dyed yarn, and is featured in the latest collection of designs for Louisa Harding – Deco – a collection of twenty projects. Inspired and influenced by Art Deco.

From the same book, we also had the model for Samba made. In supersoft Mulberry Silk – you can make this either as a top or a tunic. You will use between 5 and 10 skeins of Mulberry.
