Prayer Shawls – Knit and Crochet

There are no hard and fast rules for making prayer shawls.

“Shawls … made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles…”

At Wool and Company we have supported Prayer Shawl Ministries for a number of years.  We have a supply of donated yarn and you are welcome to visit the store at anytime and take what you need.  We only ask in return that you provide some information about yourself and about the Prayer Shawl Ministry in which you are involved.

There are no definitive patterns, however, if you’d like to start somewhere then we suggest that you visit The Prayer Shawl Ministry website.  Browse around and you’ll find some patterns there.
