Silent Auction This Weekend

May 07, 2009 By: Neil Category: events, news

Everyone has been so generous, and we have about 20 items that will be on display over the weekend May 8-9-10.  Along with the bid sheets.

Come on down this weekend and place your bid … bidding ends at 4pm Central on Sunday, May 10th.

All the money we raise will be donated directly to the education fund for Dorie’s kids – without any deductions.

The online auction has been a blast … and the three items that we’ve listed so far will probably help us to raise about $200 (at the time of writing) … thank you bidders … and there’s still time to bid on those items.

Plus, we’ve just added two new items, that will only be available for purchase through the online auction.

There’s a barn raising blanket (approx. 56″ x 46″) that has been knit by a Wool and Company team that comprises staff, customers and local guild members.

Faith Hope Love Knitting

April 16, 2009 By: Neil Category: news

faith hope love knittingA really inspirational book comes from Lorna Miser, she of Lorna’s Laces fame. It is called Faith, Hope, Love, Knitting, and is just the most delightful collection of stories, patterns and inspiration. One of those books you will return to again and again.

Faith Hope Love Knitting

For those of you in a huge hurry to get a baby gift made, we have found some lovely little kits, which are blankets made of soft flannel, that come complete with crochet cotton, hook and instructions to crochet a really pretty edging, and voila! a gorgeous gift for that special baby. We have them in white, pink, blue and green. Sooooo cute.

The new Vogue Knitting is here, and is filled with those summery tops that are quick to knit and fun to wear. How about knitting a Star Camisole like the one pictured with Plymouth Yarn’s Ecco Silk. It has a centered star medallion and ribbed extension straps.
