Qiviuk is valued because unlike sheep wool it will not shrink in water at any temperature. Qiviuk (or Qiviut) is stronger and eight times warmer than sheep wool. It's also softer than cashmere! Qiviuk retains warmth even when wet but is breathable during warmer weather.
