Feature Pattern of the Week - Banded Braids

Banded Braids Beanie by Anna Tucker,
Malabrigo Rasta, colors Whole Grain & Natural

Enjoy crisp winter walks in the Banded Braids Beanie by Anna Tucker of Little Larkspur Designs. Anna has been knitting since she was 8 years old & enjoys creating designs that are unique, beautiful & fun to knit. We took a cue from Anna’s lovely samples & knit our shop sample in Malabrigo Rasta as well.

The Banded Braids Beanie is a fun weekend knit & great for anyone who enjoys learning a new technique. The hat is knit in the round from the brim up & incorporates a Latvian Braid to achieve the stunning brim. Anna provides wonderful photo diagrams & written instructions for the braid.

The hat pattern includes sizing for newborn-adult. To knit the hat you will need one skein each of two colors of Malabrigo Rasta, a faux fur pom & size US 15, 16” circular & double point needles (note- for sizes 0-12 month the pattern calls for size US 13 needles).

If you love this pattern, visit Ravelry to see other patterns in the collection including the Banded Braids Headband, Banded Braid Cowl, & Banded Braids Mittens.

Visit our website or brick & mortar shop for the complete Malabrigo Rasta collection, as well as many fun colors of faux fur poms.

Happy Knitting!
