Feature Pattern of the Week - Baseline

Wool & Co. is thrilled to welcome Hedgehog Fibres Sock to our collection of fine knitting yarns! Our feature pattern this week is the Baseline shawl by Hedgehog Fibres creator Beata Jezek. This is a shawl with some serious personality.

Hand-dyed in County Cork, Ireland, each unique Hedgehog Fibre colorway is inspired by company founder, Beata Jezek’s, personal style. The signature colorways range from dark & moody to fluorescent & vibrant. With an emphasis on “soft & squishy,” this luxury fingering weight yarn will knit into one of a kind socks, garments & accessories.

Baseline is a three color shawl with a gorgeous silk & mohair halo knit with a size US 6, 40” circular needle (shawl is 66” at widest point, so some may want to go with a longer circular). The pattern requires three colors of Hedgehog Fibres Sock (fingering weight) held together with a single color of lace weight, silk/ mohair blend. We recommend either Shibui Silk Cloud or Rowan Kidsilk Haze. You will need 2 skeins of the silk/ mohair blend.

Enjoy choosing your own color combos or be inspired by some gorgeous looks our resident color master Julie Kroeyr put together.

Happy Knitting!
