Otte Hat by Jared Flood, Brooklyn Tweed Arbor
& Drops of Spring Mitts by Quinn Reverendo,
Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande Bocados
It is always a good time for colorful knits. Not only are they interesting to knit, but they are even more fun to wear!
The Otte Hat by Jared Flood is a chance to personalize your hat with color. Knit in soft, yet sturdy Brooklyn Tweed Arbor (DK weight), the hat is knit in the round with simple two color stranded knitting to achieve the zig zag pattern. Choose a few colors to alternate or go all out with up to 7 colors. Arbor is a worsted-spun yarn that is 100% American Targhee wool spun & dyed in the U.S. The classic color palette offers so many options to create a one of a kind look.
Since you will have yarn leftover (depending on how many colors are chosen), it is a chance to knit a hat for a friend or even have a knitting get together where you swap colors after each section.
Otte Hat Materials:
- 1 skein each of up to 7 colors of Brooklyn Tweed Arbor (entire hat requires 150 yards to knit)
- Size US 4 & 7, 16” circular needles, Size US 7 double point needles
Our other color rich pattern is a pair of fingerless mitts by Quinn Reverendo. These simple colorwork mitts are knit with Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande Bocados. Bocados are 25g mini skeins of worsted weight Alegria Grande that are ideal for small projects or sweater yokes. Hand-dyed in Uruguay, Alegria Grande is a soft, vibrant yarn spun from superwash Merino wool & nylon.
Drops of Spring Mitts Materials:
- 1 skein each of three colors of Manos del Uruguay Alegria Grande Bocados (sample photo in Oceano, Tahiti, & Spirulina)
- Size US 4 & 6 double point needles (or preferred method of small circumference knitting)
Shop both Brooklyn Tweed Arbor & Manos del Uruguay Bocados online to pick out your perfect color combination.
We are busy setting up our new Destination Store for our May 7th opening, so these yarns are only available online at this time. We are still offering store pick-up at our current location until the store closes on April 21st while we move to the new location.
Happy Knitting!
