Feature Pattern of the Week - Dapple

Ginn by Jared Flood (short sleeve version)
Brooklyn Tweed Dapple, color Cerise

Introducing the newest yarn from Brooklyn Tweed! Dapple is a velvety soft blend of 20.7-micron, Colorado Merino wool & Texas-grown organic cotton that will spark your creativity.

The yarn is woolen spun for a lofty hand & rustic appearance. However, the most striking aspect of this yarn is the dyeing process.

Dapple is tonal-dyed, which means that each skein within a dye lot has variations of color & texture for a “dappled”, tonal color effect. Mix subtle shades within the colorway to create fades, ombres & depth of color in the knit fabrics you create. In addition to producing a gorgeous yarn, Brooklyn Tweed is donating 3% of all Dapple profits to the National Black Farmers Association.

For the launch of this exciting new yarn, Jared Flood has released two new patterns designed for Dapple. The first is Ginn, a summery, short sleeve top with simple stockinette that really lets the tonality of the yarn shine. The second is Urtia, an unisex hat that will become your new favorite. It is also a great knit for the gentleman in your life who can be challenging to knit for.

Another fun pattern idea for Dapple is the Interval Shawl by Jared Flood. This free with purchase pattern looks amazing knit in a Dapple gradient.
