Feature Pattern of the Week - Flying Fringe

Flying Fringe by Beata Jezek
Hedgehog Fibres Sock and/or Skinny Singles
+ Hedgehog Fibres Sock Minis

Why spend time weaving in ends when they could become part of an incredible fringe instead!

Flying Fringe by Beata Jezek (founder & inspiration behind Hedgehog Fibres) is a gorgeous wrap that can be worn over the shoulders or wrapped as a scarf. Cool, effortless & unique, this wrap is a chance to let creativity reign & have fun playing with colors. It is impossible to go wrong with any combination of Hedgehog Fibre’s 150 colorways.

Keep it in the color family with different shades of one or two colors, create an edgy gradient or go all out rainbow...they will all look amazing.

The easy rectangular wrap is relaxing garter stitch knit on the bias. The marled effect is created by holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together. To create a similar looking marl throughout the piece simply change one strand at a time. You will not have to worry about weaving in the ends, as they will become part of the fringe.

Here is what you will need.

  • 3 skeins of Hedgehog Fibres Sock and/or Skinny Singles in three different colors
*sample photo was knit using a mix of both Sock & Skinny Singles, which adds cool texture variation
  • 9 skeins of Hedgehog Fibres Sock Minis in different colors
  • Size US 6, 16”-24” circular needle or straight needle (knit flat on bias, approx. 13” wide)

The Flying Fringe pattern is complimentary & we are happy to carry all colorways of Hedgehog Sock, Skinny Singles & Minis. A lot of Hedgehog Fibres will be arriving in March/early April, so if we are out of stock of a color please feel free to order & we will ship it out to you as soon as it arrives.

For some other fun Hedgehog pattern ideas, we also love Fading Stripes & Glitch.

Happy Knitting!
