Feature Pattern of the Week - Scrappy Marl

Scrappy Marl by Beata Jezek
Hedgehog Fibres Sock Minis

The Scrappy Marl hat by Beata Jezek of Hedgehog Fibres is like a ray of sunshine. This fun hat has endless opportunities for creative color play. It is definitely going to be difficult to stop after just knitting one.

The hat pattern itself is very simple with a ribbed band that then transitions into a stockinette body. What really creates the look is creating your own “marled” yarn by holding two strands of Hedgehog Fibres Sock yarn together.

This is where the fun really begins...choose as many or as few color combinations as you like. Be bold & carefree, as all of the colors end up looking great together. Just hold the strands of two different colors together, then switch out colors as you like. This is a great project for Hedgehog Sock Mini skeins or even remnants you may already have in your stash.

To knit this complimentary pattern you will need at least 4 Hedgehog Sock Minis or 360 yards total of fingering weight yarn in different colorways. In addition, you will need size US 4 & 6, 16” circular needles, as well as size US 6 double point needles.

Be inspired & find your happy colors in the Wool & Co. online shop or browse our brick & mortar shop selection.

Happy Knitting!
