Kagerou

This pattern is available on Ravelry.

Inspired by the most beautiful meadows of the world, Kagerou by Michiyo is a light & casual summer knit. The flared hem is reminiscent of a heat shimmer or Kagerou in Japanese.

Knit from the bottom-up, the open front vest is knit in The Fibre Co. Meadow, a blend of Merino wool, baby llama, silk, & linen. The linen fibers gives this soft & textured yarn a relaxed, “lived-in” look.

The construction of the vest is really cool in that the front and back are worked together back and forth up to the armhole, then the yokes are worked separately. Upon completion of the patterned hem, short rows are then worked to make the back longer than the front. Finally, the shoulders are joined and the piece is finished by adding buttons and blocking gently.

To knit this piece, you will need size US 2 straight or circular needles, US 6 circular needle (size to accommodate body circumference), three 15mm buttons, stitch markers, stitch holder, darning needle.

*Tip- make sure to do a gauge swatch, so that you get the perfect fit! Pattern includes swatch instructions.
