Learn how to knit a simple lace shawl in our fun & social class!  Our patient instructor will guide you through choosing colors, construction, & learning how to knit a lace pattern.  Please note, this class includes a pre-class session where you will informally meet with the instructor to choose colors, correct needles, accessories, & talk through any prep. homework.

Class Project: Local Yarn Shawl by Casapinka

Learn: Shawl construction, simple lace pattern, blocking shawls with wires, reading a lace chart

Base Knitting Level: Intermediate/ Advanced Beginner

Skill Prerequisite:  Unaided long tail cast-on, knit, purl, K2tog, knit front/back, pass slipped stitch over, change yarn colors

Materials Included w/ Class: Pattern

Additional Materials Required: One skein each of two colors of fingering weight yarn (100g skeins), size US 5, 32” circular needle, ring stitch markers, tapestry needle.

*Purchasing Materials (Pre-Class):  The first “class” will be an informal get together lasting approx. an hour where the instructor will help you choose the correct yarn weights, needles, etc. for the class.  It will allow time to get yarn wound, as well as to talk through any prep. homework that needs to be completed for the class.
