Learn the basics of shawl construction with this fun class exploring how knitting terms translate from page to project to create stunning shawls. We will be knitting 4 miniature shawl samples to demonstrate how the placement of increases and decreases effects the outcome of a finished shawl. This class is perfect for those who have been knitting shawls for a while and are looking to try their hand at designing their own, or for someone wanting to wrap their head around shawl construction before starting their first shawl.

Class Project: 4 Miniature Shawl Samples

Learn: Garter tab construction, different shawl shapes & the simple patterns to achieve them, blocking shawls with wires

Base Knitting Level: Beginner

Skill Prerequisite: Unaided cast-on, knit, purl, K2tog, ssk (slip, slip, knit), yarnover

Materials Included w/ Class: Pattern

Additional Materials Required: 210 yards light colored, smooth,  worsted weight yarn made of no more than 25% acrylic, size US 8, 24” circular needle or straight needles, stitch markers, tapestry needle
