Introduction to Stranded Colorwork Interactive Workshop

Thursday, February 15, 6pm-7pm

There are so many gorgeous knitting patterns that use stranded colorwork to create beautiful multi-colored designs. It is often showcased in Scandinavian designs, as well as many modern knits. In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics of two-color, stranded colorwork including yarn management, tension, catching floats, color dominance & how to read a chart.

Homework & Supplies:

  • Size US 8, 24” (or longer) circular needle
  • 2 colors of high contrast, worsted weight yarn (ex. black & white)

Homework: Using long tail (or favorite) technique, cast-on 30 stitches. Knit 6 rows.

Blocking Basics Demonstration

Sunday, February 25, 11am-12pm

Blocking is the perfect finish for beautiful knit & crochet projects. This final step helps to even out stitches, straighten/ shape garments & allow fibers to bloom. It is also a wonderful way to freshen & keep knits looking their best.

Enjoy this immersive demonstration where we will go through each blocking technique step-by-step with a hand knit item, explaining the “how & why” throughout the process. This will be a relaxed experience where questions & discussion are welcome. Experience wet, steam & spray blocking.

Homework & Supplies: None needed, discussion & demonstration only

We look forward to seeing you at these relaxed, informative events! No sign-up is required, just drop by the store.

Happy Knitting!
