Join us for two exciting designer workshops we have coming to Wool & Co.!
Sarah Hatton Professional Finishing Workshop, $30
Tuesday, April 30, 6pm-9pm
Sarah is a professional knit designer based in England. She is known for designing wearable garments with an innovative use of shape & texture.
During this hands-on workshop, Sarah will discuss & demonstrate different tips and techniques to help you master the art of finishing garments & accessories. Some of the techniques that will be taught include:
- Mattress stitch seaming
- Picking up stitches like a pro
- Wrap stitch short row shaping
- Incorporating button holes into your knits
- Various blocking options
For even more interest & fun, the workshop will begin with a 15 min. overview of British wool & sheep by Danielle Deane of West Yorkshire Spinners!
Homework & Supplies:
- Size US 6 straight or 16”-24” circular needles
- Tapestry/ darning needle
- HOMEWORK: Please bring two 4” x 4” (or larger) stockinette knit squares in a light colored, non-variegated DK or Worsted weight yarn.
**Please do not have a slipped stitch or garter stitch edge on your swatches.
Boxy Lace Tee by Shannon Dunbabin
Cascade Boxy Lace Tee Workshop, Complimentary
Saturday, May 4, 2pm-4pm
Taught by Cascade Yarns designer & owner Shannon Dunbabin, the Boxy Lace Tee Workshop is open to both knitters & crocheters.
In this fun, hands-on workshop, Shannon will walk the class through her newest design. With both knit & crochet instructions, the Boxy Lace Tee is a flattering, wearable summer piece made in either Cascade Hampton or Pandamonium. It is essentially a rectangle that is seamed at the shoulders & sides, making it customizable to fit any body type!
During the class you will be swatching, while discussing how to create a customized garment & calculate yarn requirements.
Homework & Supplies:
- Size US 6, straight or 16”-24” circular needles (for knitters)
- Size US 7 (4.5mm) crochet hook (for crocheters)
- Writing utensil & calculator
- No homework
