Quarry’s plush Targhee-Columbia American wool emphasizes Rocero’s larger-than-life texture, gathering delightfully at the crown for a toque that literally stands on its own.

Construction

• The hat is worked circularly from the brim to the crown.
• Two brim variations are provided: double knit stockinette stitch, worked in tubular ribbing which produces a double-layered fabric, and single-layered 1x1 ribbing.

Finished Dimensions

• 21”/53.5 cm circumference (unstretched); 10½“/26.5 cm length (with brim unfolded)
• Note: Hat is sized to fit head sizes ranging from 19–23”/48.5- 58.5 cm circumference.

Gauge

• 18 stitches & 20 rounds = 4”/10 cm in Rocero pattern with Size A needle(s), after blocking
• 18 stitches & 40 rounds (20 countable rounds) = 4”/10 cm in Double Knit Stockinette Stitch with Size B needle(s), after blocking
• 18 stitches & 20 rounds = 4”/10 cm in 1x1 Ribbing with Size A needle(s), after blocking
• Note: Gauge for this project changes considerably after blocking; please block your swatch prior to measuring to ensure accurate sizing.

Needles

Size A (for Main Fabric and 1x1 Ribbing)

• One 16”/40 cm circular needle and one set of double-pointed needles (DPNs) in size needed to obtain gauge listed
• Suggested Size: 6 mm (US 10)
