Sarah is a professional knit designer based in England. She is known for designing wearable garments with an innovative use of shape & texture.
During this hands-on workshop, Sarah will discuss & demonstrate different tips and techniques to help you master the art of finishing garments & accessories. Some of the techniques that will be taught include:
- Mattress stitch seaming
- Picking up stitches like a pro
- Wrap stitch short row shaping
- Incorporating button holes into your knits
- Various blocking options
For even more interest & fun, the workshop will begin with a 15 min. overview of British wool & sheep by Danielle Deane of West Yorkshire Spinners!
Homework & Supplies:
- Size US 6 straight or 16”-24” circular needles
- Tapestry/ darning needle
- HOMEWORK: Please bring two 4” x 4” (or larger) stockinette knit squares in a light colored, non-variegated DK or Worsted weight yarn.
**Please do not have a slipped stitch or garter stitch edge on your swatches.
