Glitch Cowl

Craft: Knitting

This pattern is available on Ravelry.

In a technical sense, a glitch is the unexpected result of a malfunction, especially occurring in software, digital images or audio. I've achieved a similar glitch effect in knitting by randomising traditional stranded colourwork that I amplified by adding a marled aspect. The result is an unpredictable fabric; a unique glitch to every knitter.

Finished Size:

70cm circumference and 32cm deep from cast on edge. Measurements taken after washing and laying flat to dry.

Needle:

3.5mm and 4mm circular needle.

Gauge:

28 sts and 26 rows = 10cm in two colour stranded stockinette. Measurements taken after washing and laying flat to dry.

Yarn:

Hedgehog Fibres Sock Yarn, two dark colours and two light colours. Pictured in Graphite, Electric, Pucker and Foam, 60g/100m of each of the four colours.
