Coffee Break by Elizabeth Smith
Lang Yarns Yak, color 62 Sienna
Nice for going out or staying in, the Coffee Break cowl by Elizabeth Smith is a gorgeously soft bandana cowl that is easy to style. Knit seamlessly in the round, the cowl is a relaxing, stress-free project that shows off garter stitch beautifully.
Knit from the top-down, the piece begins by working back & forth to start shaping (similar to a shawl). The ends are joined together & the cowl is worked in the round with additional shaping to create the “bandana.”
Elizabeth knit her worsted weight cowls in 2 different yarns. The cover photo sample is knit in Lang Yarns Yak, a luxurious blend of extra fine Merino wool & yak. The yak adds amazing softness to the yarn, as well as a depth of color that gives simple stockinette beautiful dimension.
The second cowl is knit in Juniper Moon Farm Cotton + Merino. Light, fluffy & luxurious, this yarn is an airy blend of organic cotton & Merino wool. Combining the best of both worlds, the yarn is warm & cozy, yet breathable.
