The pattern is knit bottom-up, in the round & has well-placed short rows for shaping. It is knit in Rauma Vamsegarn, a wonderful heritage yarn spun & dyed in Norway. The Aran/ worsted weight has nice stitch definition & a palette of solids & heathers that create a modern or classic look.
Caitlin also recommends De Rerum Natura Cyrano as an option for the piece. Based in France, De Rerum Natura exemplifies slow fashion in the laborious process to spin & dye each of the yarns. All of the unbleached wool in De Rerum Natura yarns come from Arles Marino sheep.
