Understated Elegance with Lyra

Lyra Blouse by Karoline Skovgaard Bentsen (aegyoknit)Ito Rakuda (color White) held together with Ito Sensai (color White)

Introducing the Lyra Blouse by Karoline Skovgaard Bentsen. A definite swoon-worthy piece, this romantic sweater was immediately added to our project queue!

The deep, dramatic ribbing & bell sleeve give the sweater a lush elegance. Bell sleeves were popular during the 1500’s & continue to pop into fashion delivering a modern, yet timeless feel.

The blouse is worked top-down in the round, beginning at the neckline. Raglan increases & short rows are then worked to create a nice fit. Both the body & sleeves are knit in the round. The top-down construction is amazing because it allows for the piece to be easily tried on & lengthened if desired! Though keep in mind you will need additional yarn if adding length.

Lyra is knit in two beautiful Ito yarns held together. Spun & dyed in Japan, Ito yarns possess a fine hand & knit into sophisticated pieces that are meant to be worn & treasured. Rakuda’s blend of wool & camel provides substance & structure to the piece, while Sensai’s blend of silk & mohair delivers a soft halo with a gentle sheen.
