These ultra–cozy mittens in our chunky single-ply Puffin, sized from child to large adult, are adorable and a fun way to incorporate a little bit of color by way of a relaxed two-color seed stitch. The clever two-color increases at the thumb gusset make them practically invisible. Make a super cute winter accessory set by also knitting the Dot hat.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
5¾ (6¾, 8, 9¼)" [14.5 (17, 20.5, 23.5) cm] hand circumference and 7¼ (8¾, 10¾, 12¼)" [18.5 (22, 27.5, 31) cm] long; designed to fit the following hand sizes: small kid (large kid, average adult, large adult); shown in small kid and average adult sizes

YARN:
Quince & Co. Puffin / 1 skein each in MC and CC / smaller size shown in Kumlien's Gull (MC) and Chanterelle (CC) / larger size shown in Iceland (MC) and Canvas (CC)

NEEDLES:
set dpns in sizes US 10 and 10½ [6 and 6.5 mm]

GAUGE:
13 sts and 16 rnds = 4" [10 cm] in stitch pattern on larger needles, after blocking

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Long-tail, backward loop, and alternating cable cast ons, picking up stitches (links provided); increasing, decreasing.
