Craft: Knitting
This half-moon shawl keeps the knitting interesting with alternating slip-stitch patterns of dots and stripes, punctuated by rows of eyelets. The finishing touch is a clever border that is knit perpendicular to the shawl body. As your border grows, the shawl works its way off your needles.

Notes on border construction
The knit border is created by knitting an i-cord from the first 3 sts of the shawl body. Once the i-cord is complete, you will rotate the piece so that the shawl body is to your left and the i-cord is horizontal in front of you. Picking up stitches from the i-cord, you will knit your way back to the shawl body where you will knit one of the shawl body stitches with your border row. You’ll turn and work your way out to the edge of the border. Your repeat this process until all but 3 of the shawl body stitches are knit. Your final right side row will be an i-cord bind off and graft your 3 i-cord stitches to the remaining 3 stitches of the shawl body.
