Askell shawl by Solenn Couix-Loarer

Craft: Knitting

This pattern is available on Ravelry.

“Askell” is a narrow, asymmetrical shawl that is easy to wrap around the neck like a scarf and that has a lovely, streamlined design in its widest part.

«Askell» means «wing» in Breton and was chosen in reference to the final shape of the shawl and the large feather-like pattern on the first part.

Construction

It is knitted starting from the right-hand side, growing rapidly to the maximum width, then decreasing at a slower pace to the final tip.

Skill level

2/5

Techniques used

Knitting back and forth, slipped-stitches, garter stitch, cables.
