Born from the desire for traceable, ethical yarn spun, dyed & sourced in France, De Rerum Natura produces incredible yarns in a sophisticated, modern palette. The yarns are small batch, artisan creations that knit into garments & accessories that will be treasured for a lifetime. Slow fashion is exemplified in the laborious process to spin & dye each of the yarns. All of the unbleached wool in De Rerum Natura yarns come from Arles Marino sheep. The 21.5 micron wool is extremely soft, durable & has a gorgeous elasticity due to the pronounced crimp of the fleece. These happy sheep pasture in the southeast of France with the best possible breeding practices.
Gilliatt is a warm, worsted weight yarn that is woolen spun to be light in weight & comfortable to wear. Spun with Arles Marino wool & black Portuguese Merino wool, the yarn is superb for knitting garments & accessories. The fleece-dyed yarn has a beautiful depth of color & a gorgeous heathered quality. The yarn blooms wonderfully upon blocking.

Country of Origin: Gilliatt is a woolen spun yarn made from a blend of white French Mérinos d'Arles (Provence) and black Portuguese merino (Alentejo valley) raised with a concern for the well-being of the animals and the valorisation of their wool.
All the manufacturing stages of this yarn are carried out in a short circuit (France and Portugal for sourcing, Belgium or Italy for washing, France for spinning and dyeing) with a constant desire for traceability and to reduce its impact on the environment.
