A Fino mini-skein kit lets you play with color in what would usually be a one-skein project -- and an unexpected closure at the top avoids both short rows and weaving in the ends from all the stripes! The twice-folded cuff at the bottom keeps ears warm while showing off the subtle difference of the “wrong” side of the fabric.

Finished Size

17¾” head circumference unstretched (will stretch to about 20”), and 9” tall with lower edge folded up

Manos del Uruguay FINO MINI-SKEINS (70% extrafine merino wool, 30% silk; 5 mini-sks, each approx. 98 yds/20 g; entire set approx. 490 yds/100 g): 1 set.

30 sts and 54 rows = 4”/10cm in Garter Stitch

This hat is worked sideways in 4-row stripes of garter stitch (knit all stitches every row).
