Craft: Knitting

The jacket is knitted in one piece from the top down, using two strands held together—one of Modena and one of Milano. Work begins with the neckband, from which stitches are picked up for the back, fronts, and shoulder yokes; as work progresses, increases on both sides of the shoulder yokes shape the sloping shoulders and establish the final width of the front and back sections, while subsequent increases within the shoulder yokes form the sleeve caps. Ribbed details feature at the cast-on edge, shoulder yokes, upper back, underarm, and side seams. The sleeves have an underarm seam, but the rest of the garment is seamless. The jacket can easily be lengthened or shortened.
