Contrasting color garter ridges break up stockinette in this hat and mitts set which is anything but basic. The multidirectional stripes and textured bands create visual movement. Your new go-to accessories those cold days ahead.

Hat brim is worked flat and seamed with stitches picked up along one edge to complete the rest of the hat int he round.

Mitt cuffs are knit flat and seamed with stitches for the mitts picked up along one edge to complete the remainder of the project in the round.

1 set each double-pointed needles (or preferred needles for working small circumferences), sizes 6 / 4 mm and 7 / 4.5 mm

For Mitts: 1 set each double-pointed needles (or preferred needles for working small circumferences), sizes 6 / 4 mm and 7 / 4.5 mm

Notions

Stitch markers (1 a different color for BOR), tapestry needle, waste yarn for holding stitches

Gauge

18 sts and 30 rnds = 4" / 10 cm in Main Pattern St on larger needles

20 sts and 30 rows = 4" / 10 cm in Band Pattern St on smaller needles
