This casual sweater, featuring a Scandinavian star pattern on the yoke, is worked in the round from the bottom up to the armholes, beginning at the lower hem with an Italian cast-on. At the armholes, the front and back are separated and worked back and forth in rows; the shoulders are shaped using short rows and finally joined using the three-needle bind-off method. The front piece is slightly longer than the back, shifting the shoulder line just a little toward the upper back. The double-layered neckband—which doubles as a stand-up collar—is accented with a contrasting color stripe. The sleeves are also worked back and forth in rows and sewn into the armholes.
